Relative Strength (RS) Rating
What an RS rating or rank measures, how a percentile score works, and how traders use it to focus on market leaders without confusing it with RSI.
A single number for leadership
An RS rating (or RS rank) condenses a stock’s relative strength into one number, usually on a scale from 1 to 99. It answers a simple question: how has this stock’s price performance compared with every other stock in the group being ranked? A rating of 90 means the stock has outperformed about 90% of the stocks in that universe over the measurement period.
The rating is a percentile, not a return. A stock with an RS rating of 50 is right in the middle of the pack, even if it has gained money.
