When Timeframes Disagree

What to do when the daily chart says “buy” and the weekly says “careful,” with SPY’s real May 2025 example.

Conflicts are normal

Timeframes disagree all the time, especially near turning points. After a decline, the daily chart usually turns up first, while the weekly chart is still damaged. Near a top, the daily chart often weakens first while the weekly still looks fine. The question is not how to avoid conflicts, but how to act when they happen.
