Finviz Alternative: How Market Jukebox Compares

Finviz is one of the best-known stock screeners on the web. Its screener filters and market map are what a lot of traders picture when they hear "stock screener." If you're looking for a Finviz alternative, you probably want one of three things: a different way to find ideas, more structure around setups, or tools that sit next to your screener in one place.

This page compares the two honestly. Finviz does some things better than Market Jukebox, and we'll tell you which. Market Jukebox is built for a different job: discovery through pattern scans, guru-style screens, and a heatmap, with charts and study tools one click away.

What Finviz does well

Finviz's public pages say its free registered tier gives you the screener with basic filters, delayed quotes, and up to 50 saved presets. Finviz Elite adds real-time data, including premarket (4:00 to 9:30 AM ET) and after-hours (4:00 to 8:00 PM ET) sessions. Elite also adds advanced filters, intraday maps, interactive multi-layout charts, alerts, and export to Excel or CSV.

Finviz lists Elite at $39.50 per month or $299.50 per year. It offers a free Elite trial, which needs a credit card. If your workflow is "set 15 fundamental filters, export the list, and set alerts," Finviz Elite is a strong, focused tool for that.

How Market Jukebox is different

Market Jukebox starts from ideas, not just filters. The stock screener covers the Dow 30, S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400, S&P SmallCap 600, Nasdaq 100, Nasdaq-listed names, and the Russell 3000. You can filter by exchange, sector, industry, price, volume, and moving averages. One-click presets cover breakouts, surging names, strongest names, pullbacks, new highs, new lows, and volume shocks.

Next to the screener, the Pattern Scanner lets you pick from 73 named chart patterns and scan liquid US names for them. The list includes cup and handle, flags, triangles, double bottoms, and candlestick patterns. Guru Scans are educational screens inspired by publicly described methods, such as O'Neil/CANSLIM-style momentum and Connors-style short-term setups. They are not those traders' actual signals.

The sector heatmap is a nested treemap that you can size by market cap or dollar volume, colored by the day's move. Click a tile to open a chart with candlesticks, volume, 20/50/200-day moving averages, RS rank, and relative volume.

Data and limits, plainly

Free Market Jukebox accounts use delayed data. Pattern Scanner and Guru Scans are capped at 5 per day on free. Full Access lifts those caps. It adds real-time data quotes (refreshed hourly during regular hours, not a streaming tick feed), Daily Setup Ideas, Primo Setups, and the Trade Desk.

The Trade Desk includes paper trading, a trade journal, a position sizing calculator, an RS matrix, market breadth, sector rotation, factor ranks, multi-chart compare, and saved custom scans. If you need streaming real-time quotes, premarket data, or bulk CSV export, Finviz Elite covers those and Market Jukebox doesn't try to.

Pricing

Finviz Elite is cheaper than Market Jukebox Full Access. Market Jukebox Full Access is $97 per month, $997 per year, or $4,995 lifetime, with a $7 three-day trial. The free account needs no credit card. Many traders use both: Finviz for raw filtering and Market Jukebox for pattern and guru discovery plus study tools.
